The Intentional Impact of Images
A few things have been going through my head regularly as I’ve prepared my talk for TEDxOmaha. The Palm Springs desert from my time at TEDActive all those years ago. The Filter Bubble. Boaty Mc Boat Face. HBO’s Hard Knocks (gotta get in my reps!) All reference points for serious talk about images.
The point of the talk is to simplify and confine the meaning of what an image is so it can be easily grasped and acted upon. I think. What gets covered: graphic design, the issues of the day, doom scrolling, aspect ratios, an old map, choices, and GIFs.
The title is set: The Intentional Impact of Images

There’s something so appealing about those two words. Unable to be known, unable to be labeled.
Bold Alliance
Project launch for BOLD:
The Bold Alliance is a network of “small and mighty” groups in rural states working to protect land and water. We fight fossil fuel projects, protect landowners against eminent domain abuse, and work for clean energy solutions while building an engaged base of citizens who care about the land, water, and climate change.
Why should I vote?
Oh Nebraska (and nation). Lots on the line in these old midterms. Here is some stuff to care about. And also, just to say it plain, Republicans got nothing.
They are liars and cheaters who tried to steal the last election. If you think they’re done with their anti democratic tendencies, I just don’t know where you’ve been living the last couple years. Anyone who is so hellbent on taking rights away from people (abortion, voting, marriage) and continues to use their power to pick on groups who don’t have much (trans, migrant, students) is certainly not fixing the economy.
You can tell a lot by the pawns people go out of their way to use. The economy doesn’t work if it doesn’t work for everyone, simple as that. It’s a long road to get to where we need to be, best not drive us in a ditch now.
