Round and Round, Year 6

Can you believe our luck? Spaceship Earth hits a massive rough patch with the worst person America has to offer as the world’s more powerful man. We’re all worse off than we were 4 years ago. Don’t let any shitbird tell ya different.

But the design must go on. No let up, no quit. We don’t know what the future holds. We don’t know how long this lasts. We don’t know when we come out on the other side. But we do know, we’ll be here.

Is there any coming back from this unscathed?

No, of course not. 2020 could go down in our history as the bottom. One can only hope. That still won’t stop us from putting our own mark on it. This is how we saw it.

This is how we felt about it. This is what we did during the great unraveling. Fist in the air in the land of hypocrisy.

Round and Round, Year 5

Our little engine that could just finished operating its 5th year. That’s right fuckers, Round and Round is a high five old. Maybe this next year we’ll finally get around to throwing a party to celebrate. And maybe we won’t. Either way, we’ll still have this book. The 5th book in our ongoing series.

For this one, we want to take a moment to give a round of applause to all the beautiful people who were with us along the way and helped make this journey possible. Without them, we’re just three dudes clicking our mouses into the void. With them, we’re a design machine who kills fascists. With them, our skills fight for a better tomorrow. With them, we capture lightning in a bottle and let it loose for the cause.

We’ve been working hard here at Round and Round. Lots of solid collaborations in 2019: Design for a dynamic arts scene, more equitable community, safer homes, stronger local politics, and access to healthcare. Updates posted on our site. Check it:

R&R: In the Books

At our Round and Round office, we close out the year by designing a book of highlights. The official R&R book. The story of the year with its finest adventures and best tales shared with you, our most ardent fans. Year 5 is in the works. On our studio site, we now have an overview of the past 4. Good, inspiring, weird stuff in those pages. Check it:

Round and Round For Hire

The crew at Round and Round has officially launched a real, honest-to-goodness (Squarespace) website. Design in the ’Ha, yo. Putting the pieces together, ironed out into a cohesive presentation of information. Ya know, what websites do. Hire the team? Hire an individual? We’ll leave that to you.

A collaborative coworking space in midtown Omaha using design to help build a community where we all want to live.

Round and Round (and Round) Year 2

Days go by. The world keeps spinning. And we keep going round. The end of 2016 marks the completion of the 2nd year at our midspace of makers in the heart of Omaha. Our little experiment with independent design coworking continues to be quite exciting. We’re working with some amazing changemakers and do-gooders. The projects are challenging and engaging. The music is still loud. The laughs fairly original. And the way that none of it feels all that much like work is still palpable. We do want to have an open house at some point. Maybe we can make that happen in year 3.

Regardless, we’re looking to 2017 with heightened ferocity. We have all been shocked and dismayed by election 2016. But we certainly are not ready to go quietly into the night. Instead, we’re going to get after it, in the only way we know how. By rolling up our sleeves and getting to work. But first we’re taking a couple weeks off to recharge. Enjoy the downtime, and we’ll see you in 2017.

Check out our brief case study on 2016. To keep up with the antics, best follow us on Tumblr.
