New project launch for the City of Omaha:
The Omaha Recycling Guide is designed to help residents in the City of Omaha understand what items are accepted in our curbside and drop-off recycling program. By recycling the right items in the right way, you help improve the overall quality of our City’s recycled materials. Recycling right also prevents damage to equipment, is safer for workers who handle the materials, and keeps contamination out.

To Be On This Team
When doing the work, with the organizations we work with, for the causes we fight for, the team must:
be open to ideas, coming from all directions
understand the process isn’t something to simply complete
get as many people bought in along the way as you can
pushback yes, confrontation no
we are here for the cause
in the search for what’s possible, know what is
there is no such thing as the ideal scenario
bring to the table what needs to be brought
the process can be adjusted, it’s okay
no one is the smartest person in the room
there are times to speak, listen, write, and refrain
it’s the people, then the work, don’t worry about externalities
everyone does their part, no need for excuses
there’s talk, and then there’s getting it done
professionalism, maturity, respect, humility
we deliver, end of story
and things change, that’s how it is
Why?
At the bar, around midnight, after a long day of travel, drinks, and a team dinner, I was presented with this question: “why do you live in Omaha?”
To which, the only reply I could muster was, “I don’t really know.”
I was caught off guard for sure. I have a stock answer for such questions. But still, in that moment, I didn’t really believe it. So I just threw up my hands and took another drink.
