In 2018, just 4.3% of major new releases were directed by women. In independent films, that number was 28%. At Film Streams, 34% of the films screened were women-led.

But that isn’t enough.

See Change is their initiative to do better.

As far as arthouse theaters go, Film Streams is pretty special. Don’t take my word for it, just watch this short film from The Criterion Channel.

Their commitment to community has been a core belief of this nonprofit since its formation over a decade ago. As it has filled a longtime void in our city’s cultural landscape by bringing cutting edge films to the screen and facilitating important discussions along the way, Film Streams has always been at the forefront. And now it’s doing so within the film industry.

This project was a collaborative effort that included branding, microsite, video, animations, theater screens, and social media graphics.
