title: independent designer
emphasis either specific project work that needs to get done quickly or long-term partnerships. non-profit or for-profit, but always committed to making things better; social, political, environmental.
specifics concept/strategy/design/execution. primarily includes graphic design for identity/branding, media or political campaigns, project creation, art direction, writing and activism. for an overall look, posters, websites, logos, id systems, packaging, books, protests, artwork, screenprints, exhibitions, invitations, presentations, events, catalogs/brochures, collateral materials, social media, apps or apparel. in short, whatever it takes.
background with a degree in mass communications, i set out to make a short film, initiate collaborative design projects, and partner with progressive organizations in the community. my projects explore our visual culture and our ability to create a common goal for a greater good. my work focuses on the specifics of a place; picking a side, and giving image and clarity to specific causes. whether dealing with social justice, peace issues, sustainability and climate action, student organizing or art culture, the thinking is to design positively, to make it beautiful and to move people to action.
and now working on the next phase of a virtual town hall, with a digital media division dedicated to social change and alongside a political action start-up.
